size of stones?
« on: October 16, 2007, 01:52:22 PM »

I am shopping for kits to make square stepping stones for a pathway.  I notice that the kits I've looked at on your site do not seem to say, on the site anyway, how big a stone the kit makes?  In reading some messages, it looks like some are 12x12?  Can you tell me which kits for square stons are that big or bigger?  Thanks.

Hi Trudy,

Thank you for your interest in Milestones and thank you for using our craft forum! Our stones are a great way to accent a pathway. Our stepping stone kits come in either a 12" size or an 8" size. The 8" sized kits consist of all of our kid's kits and our Paw Print kit. All the rest are the 12" size.

As for square-shaped kits that are 12"x12", you have a few different options. Here is a list of kits that are that particular size and shape:

-Inspiration Stone Kit (item# 901-11279)
-All About Me! Squiggle Stone Kit (901-11278)
-Tulip Garden Kit (901-11586)
-Original Square Stepping Stone Kit (901-11261)

Our other kits come in various other shapes. Another route you can take is to purchase open-stock items, rather than kits. We offer mix, molds and decorations that can be purchased separately from the kits. That way, you're not confined to just what is included in the kits. You can view all of our mix, molds and decorations on our website by following the 'Stepping Stone Accessories' link.

I hope this information helps and if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us or post on this forum.

Regards,

Thanks, Jeff.  What size  stepping stone mix would I buy for a 12 inch square step?  Also, in accessories I clicked on stones and got not found.

Hello again, Trudy,

Thanks for writing back! To make a 12" square stone (or any other 12" stone), you would need approximately 7-8lbs. of cement mix. We have several sizes of mix available. Our new 24lb. Value Pack of cement mix is our best per-pound value. It is enough mix to make three 12" stones or six 8" stones. To find the mix and all of our other Stepping Stone Accessories, copy and paste the following link into your browser:

Then, follow the links listed in each category to view the other products.

Thanks again for using our Milestones Crafter's Community Forum and if you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us!

Good luck with your project!
